So to all the moms who have delivered.....I've been asking my friends about delivering naturally vs epidural....the common theme I'm noticing is that epidural = more tearing.....is this what you have noticed as well?
As a mom of soon to be six. I believe it really just depends on your body and baby size. Epidural or not, if you're going to tear you're going to tear. I only tore with my first. I just wish I got an episiotomy instead of asking dr to allow me to tear as I read in so many places it was better but i don't think so cause it healed horribly.
Thanks @izzywaylon2016...I think they gave me some other meds as well when I had the epidural for my hip replacement.....I made it clear I did not want to wake up in the middle of it...so maybe that's why I was soooo numb....
I got the epidural but I'm glad I did or I might have had a csea I had tore a little but for me I could feel when I needed to push and how i was pushing: ) @angiek
It was halarious my midwife kept calling him uncle fester and my husband was like get out here and see all these pretty ladies. I had very pretty nurses plus my midwife is super pretty too. So we were all cracking up. It was awesome. I hope for everyone to have that kind if experience as well.
@kparis, @texasrose thank you for your answers, I appreciate your input 😁
Laughed him out?! Omg I can only hope for that 😂 sounds awesome m! @bugmama
I'm with @kparis had my son 4 years ago with and had no tearing and laughed him out.
@angiek, It does make sense. You can tear both ways but it is worse when your body can't feel what it's supposed to be doing. you're correct in assuming. you won't be able to feel to push the doctor will tell you when because you're numb. The delivery and healing process is even way better without an epidural
lol they say with epidural your body is more relaxed.. so you'll dialate and everything faster.. it truly has nothing to do with the tearing.. as said above it can happen to anyone it depends on size of baby and if your body can accommodate
I'm just asking because I had an epidural with my last hip replacement....& I couldn't feel anything....I'm not even sure id know if I was pushing.....sorry if that sounds stupid, just weighing both options & trying to decide what's best for my baby & I. Thanks for your input @lilkountryma & @carlitojrmami
Thanks @baby6aryn I appreciate your insight! I will definitely read up on episiotomies.
