I am a ftm and I had my newborn last week, I breast feed and I was wondering about drinking alcohol. how long does it take to pass through the milk? I plan to feed her some that I have in the freezer but I would like to go out and have a drink with my s/o.

don't bother with the test strips as they'll always fail...
You can buy test strips to test your milk for alcohol
Yeah its soothing to both sometime but yeah I'll wait a whole 24 hrs to be safe @rsebring1

You can pump and store it in the freezer. I won't breast feed again for another 24 hrs.
Safe to drive, safe to nurse. So, one or two beers will not hurt. Dark beer even increased production. If you want to get wasted, pump first and give the baby a bottle until you sober up. Have fun! Don't listen to "pump and dump", it's a lie and a waste!!!! Kellymom.com is a great resource!!!!
