Thoughts on Mirena? My husband and I are due for our second child any day, and today at my Drs appointment we were discussing birth control options. My dr suggested Mirena. I want something I can still breastfeed with, and something that will eliminate my periods but not cause weight gain, or fertility issues sometime down the road!

I hated mine. got it taken out after 8 months. my uterus was constantly trying to expel it so I had horrible 10 pain scale cramps. but I know other women it worked amazing. the arm implant was better for me. Rather have something in my arm then in my iterus

I had the mirena for about 8 months and I got it taken our I didn't gain weight and I was able to breastfeed it made my periods only for 3 days but I PERSONALLY had hair loss and my arms would break out really bad I also would get mood swings . you can always get it and if you don't like it you can always get it removed and try something else. if you do get it I would recommend getting it as soon as you have your baby of they allow It I waited to my 6 week pp appointment and I just finished bleeding from having my daughter and I got it and I started bleeding again for another month and a half.
