So this has been weighing on my brain. My boyfriend swears he would never cheat on me. My doctor said BV is not an STD; however, most websites say men can carry it. I have been with him for 6 months and this is the first time I have ever got it. I'm nervous he picked it up from someone else. He has never given me any reason to believe he was/is cheating other than getting upset when I talk to my exs (his previous ex cheated on him). Why is this crossing my mind...he's never sketchy about his phone, he's never cheated from what I know, he doesn't have a Facebook, he doesn't act like he's hiding anything...am I just being insecure? I could use some advice and opinions please!

It's really not sexually transmitted, but if you're this worried, your instincts could be picking up on something going on.

You're pregnant, bacterial infection is common from BV to yeast infections. Even if you weren't pregnant. It's just an imbalance of good and bad bacteria/bad PH. Usually happens in women who are young and sexually active but it isn't an STD. Men can carry bacteria but I'm sure they can't get BV, their bodies don't have the right environment.

Hahaha when I got BV I thought he was going to think I cheated. the doctor wouldn't even name what I had because he was in the room. she just said "you have an infection, BUT IT IS NOT AN STI" and she said it like 100 times. like way to make me look guilty woman hahah. When we left, I Google the drug and found out it was for BV and I was like "seriously?!?! she couldn't have just said that??"

I've had chronic bv since I was about 20, I'm 38 now. I have to use a suppository 3 times a wk just to not get it so don't worry, it's your ph not him cheating. And ph gets so thrown off while pregnant

It doesn't mean he's cheating, but you could ask your doctor about him getting treated too. It happened to me, got BV back to back for months, the meds gave me yeast infections so I was miserable. The doctor told me what could be happening is that we were passing it back and forth which is plausible because they normally only treat the woman. Ask your doctor. It might help. It worked for me and my husband

I've had it a handful of times and my doctor finally said "amber stop washing your vaginal area with soap" lmao so I only use summers eve know maybe 3 times a week or after sex and haven't had it since ! but she's right you might call ur doc and see if maybe he should take antibiotics cause every time I got it go away I kept getting it back partially from my fault and because men can become carriers if exposed too many times lol its so weird.
