How do you ladies feel about being induced? I secretly feel a little guilty when i wanna say yes to an induction.... i mean my baby is done right??
@graciesmom2016, @alusardi yea i really dont wanna force it im just sooooo ready to see him!!!! but ive heard ur more likely to have complications if u get induced than if u just let it happen.
@jana.bear, right... thats y im always nervous when they ask me if i wanna be induced because even tho my due date is pretty solid i still feel like hes not ready to come out yet.
I HATED being induced. If I had a choice I would never do that again lol. Long and soooo uncomfortable
I was induced at 40 weeks because I wouldn't dialate past 3cm. It was seriously awful, my other births were no where near as painful. It's a long slow painful process and it's a lot better to let it happen naturally, for you and for your baby, no matter how hard it is to wait
Your due date could be off by as much as 2 weeks. Between 37 and 40 weeks your babies brain actually fills out a lot (up to 25%!). So they might think you're 38 weeks but the baby could actually only be 36 weeks. There have been links between developmental delays and learning disabilities to kids born even just 3 weeks early. So yes your baby will survive and be just fine, but is your child struggling to learn to read really worth ending your discomfort a few weeks early? Many mom disagree and think because their kid looks healthy that it doesn't matter if they give birth early, but in reality no doctor that has respect for your child will agree to induce you without a serious medical problem until your a week late.
There can be complications with any birth. I just hated my experience. I was indicted for a medical reason. I was stuck in bed the iv for the pitocin was unbearable because they couldn't get it in my arm. The drugs made me really sick so I was throwing up a lot. As ready as I was to have my baby I would much rather let nature take its course. She could have benefited from cooking a little longer
