Turned 21 today and I want to drink so bad. Do you mamas pump and dump or wait til you're sober to…

I didn't pump and dump if it was one beer or glass of wine. If I had more id wait 4-5 hrs. And if I drank too much. I'd wait till I was sober. But I never really pumped and dumped.

There's no reason to dump milk. The alcohol metabolizes out of the milk at the same time it leaves your bloodstream. So if anything stock up and have something in case baby gets hungry before your good and ready. They say 2 beers max depending on body mass maybe less. I will drink one beer and not interrupt our schedule , only a couple times have had 2 in a day ; haven't done anything more than that. You could always call ur dr and see what they suggesy

never pump and dump, if you're safe to drive you're safe to nurse :) I make myself root beer floats with those alcoholic root beers and I drink them in the evenings during cluster feedings

@ashtonpaxton, the beer increases your supply because of the yeast and fermentation. Telling you by experience.

if you want to drink, I recommend eating good then pumping enough for how long you think you wanna be out. so instead baby getting any wine or liquor, or whatever, you have a bottle for him that's just of breastmilk. so you don't have to worry about what your giving him.
