@sarahemccormick, so I took your advice thank you! this helps a lot. he is not pooping nearly as much though and it's a little pasty as opposed to wet and watery. I'm guessing it's ok as long as he's pooping! we have a doc appt. on the 20th. the nurse also told me to try soy milk but I hate constantly changing his formula!!
My son has severe acid reflux and he does this too. He is breastfed. I was instructed to express milk and put it in a bottle with 1 tbsp of infant rice cereal per ounce and feed that to hin a couple times a day to thicken the milk. It DOES help with the spitting up for sure. I would ask the doctor about it. The treatments/medicines they have have side effects, so this was the best option for him.
My daughter sometimes still burps well after a feeding. As long as baby isnt uncomfortable, i wouldnt worry. My daughter sometimes does it too. You can mention it to your pediatrician.
@jashmen, been having that same problem with Ethan day one. It looks like cottage cheese making me realize he's not digesting. His pediatrician said its normal with some babies. He's gaining weight, and having wet diapers and pooping. It has subsided somewhat now in his 9th week. Would burp between breast and also would hold him up for a bit after feeding and he would still be spitting up.
