I lost my health insurance at the end of last month. I move from NC to OH on Friday where I'll be applying for Medicaid as soon as I get there. Which takes several weeks if not months to be approved. I know being sick doesn't hurt the baby generally unless of a high fever but it's hard not to worry when I'm throwing up, my throat is sore, ears hurt, body aches and I'm congested. And I have to make the 9 hour drive to Ohio. I hate the feeling of being pregnant and not having medical coverage. 😞😞
I applied for Medicaid online when I lived in Cinncinnati. I kept calling to check on my app just to push it more lol I got approved within days bc I was pregnant ♡ stay positive love! @mommydess
I moved from FL to NC & the weather change had me sick as well. I thought I'd be miserable because of the pregnancy but I just took a bunch of children's coughing medicine, nasal spray, & kept recolla's handy to suck on. & for the Medicaid, depending on where you go, there's a bunch of health dept. that give you temporary pregnancy insurance until your Medicaid comes in. Good luck honey!
U can be seen even if ur status of approval is pending. I didn't know that my first pregnancy and was nearly 6 mo bf I had any real prenatal care.
Yeah it only took a little over 1 week to get approved and if you can't wait for the card to come in the mail after the approval you can call the insurance agency and get your member ID# and just give your obgyn that temporarily until you get your card!
That makes me feel better. Thank you ladies. I'm high risk too. They said the process can go faster if I show proof of that so fingers crossed. @candacelouise @scc2413 @sheebster
@mommydess, hey girl, when I applied they said it would take weeks but only took 5 days! It was so fast. Just get everything filled out fast and it could be approved by the end of this week!
I live in OH and they are pretty quick. If you get approved which I don't see why you wouldn't they'll be a little quicker since you're pregnant. It's getting the card that takes the longest but all you have to do is go to the local office and ask for a temporary card and they'll print one out for you.
Thank you all so much. @mommyro30 @mommyjuly22nd2016 @gypsy.soul2
