so I just had my son on march2nd 2016, me and the father are together but not living togethor right now. so my question is. is it true i have to put him on child support for my son to get medicaid... im in houston.

In Utah they never screw with the kid's coverage but here you wouldn't get medicaid if you didn't cooperate with them.

no need to file anything to get Medicaid. it's income base if you get approved

Hell no he can get Medicaid without him being on child support

Did you have Medicaid when you were pregnant? If so your baby can get Medicaid until a year then a case will open up. I'm not completely sure if you didn't have it what would be the protocol. My mom works for child support and I remember right it will open up a case.
