Sooooo idkif my overactive mind is going again or if anybody else has thought about this, but.... How is it that sex is safe all thru your pregnancy, yet at the end it will soften your cervix and cause labor?
The hormone found in sperm causes the cervix to soften!
Soooo why does it not cause the cervix to soften untell the last few weeks?
I dont get it!!!!!!!
lol I was just thinking about this a few days ago. I was gonna ask the nurse at my next visit.
see all that makes sense, but to say ya its safe the hole time but causes labor at the end!
Needs to be explained better.
I can't do the deed with my hubby because if this. I'm only 17 weeks. It causes me to have such strong contractions, my doctor just said I'm better safe than sorry. I think it just depends on the person. If you cervix is already "ready" to begin the process, the effects of semen would work more effectively. this is why most women only experience it at the end. This is my 2nd viable child and my 4th pregnancy. with my first I went into preterm labor so my cervix just tends to be more sensitive.
I'm not sure... but my midwife (very experienced and respected in the area) did tell me that semen helps to "ripen" the cervix, and it is noticeably easier for women who are regularly exposed to semen to open up during labor than those who are not. so I think it helps prepare your cervix, and doesn't actually make it open, just helps the process once it is started.
Right. Im 37 weeks and my doc is stripping membranes next week to try and start labor bc its my first and she is estimated around 9 1/2 lbs so hes worried about complications if i go to 40 weeks. Anywase he said have sex as much as i can bx it soften cervix. I got to thinking wtf why now does it but not before???? lol
I always wonder that too, like after my boyfriend I have sex I always get paranoid about that.

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
