my son still has his cold of course. and I've been doing what I can do. sucking out his nose, putting vicks baby rub on his feet at night, having the humidifier going at night, giving him cough medicine (we just got the cough medicine and humidifier last night). he's not running a fever but I know that rsv starts as a cold. I'm wondering if I should take him into the e.r. just incase. he's also not been eating a whole lot. He normally eats 4oz, but recently he's only been eating 2oz, 3oz if I'm lucky.

What kind of cough medicine? Whenever my son had a cold his doctor said I couldn't give him anything. I just wanna know what kind for the future if he gets another cold, I'll ask his doctor about it first though!

I got zarbees naturals baby cough syrup. it's all natrual no drugs or alcohol, no dyes, no artificial flavors, no artificial sweeteners, gluten free. I got it because my aunt said they used it on my little cousin when he was a baby.

@sarahdrew, yeah I'm going to talk to hubby when he gets home and we might take him. I just don't want it to end up being rsv and I'd rather catch it sooner than later.

I'll try it next time he gets a cold. Does it actually help? And how long has he had the cold? You could always take him to make sure. Last time my son had a cold, he had a 102.5 fever for a week. All they did at the doctors was a flu test ... the doctors aren't very helpful in my opinion.

I agree with you @laurapurcell catch it sooner rather than later.... @caydensmommy it helped my son, I haven't had to give it to my daughter yet thankfully
