what are people's opinions about getting their baby's ears pierced. I'm on the fence about it.

I would do it at the Pediatrician

I wouldn't but if you're going to avoid the gun. that is not the proper way to pierce ears and actually is the cause to most infections people have with their piercings. bc it doesn't really pierce the ear, it rips the tissue apart and doesn't heal as it should creating permanent damage. if you're going to pierce you have to use a real needle, go to a real piercer not a stand at the mall or a claire's. also something to note is a lot of babies have a sensitivity to metal.

i had mine done as an infant. dont remember it and my ears never had any problems always can put earings in. i dont knwo many young girls who didnt want them at some point. my sister however didnt get hers done till she was older. she messed with them, they bothered her while healing and she has had them done 4 times cause she keeps taking them out. my mom couldnt monitor it as easily because she could physically mess with them herself. if i have a girl i will donit while young. with that i will obviously take the uttmost care to make sure they heal properly and if there os any sign of an issue, inwoudl remove them. but guess what your mom.... you get to choose. not right way!

I would at least wait and see if she even wants her ears pierced

we wait until 13 in my family....it was the way I was brought up

If I had a girl, I would do it! Probably around 6 months, that's when I had mine done.
