how do you politely tell someone they can't be godparent to your child without offending them

@rgaine, yes it's a girl we aren't really close but I guess she considers herself my friend and she keeps asking but she's in an abusive relationship and just is not the person I would trust with my child but I don't want to offend her

@mrshamilton830, no good- that's pretty bold of her. I wouldn't know what to say- nobody in my family has had godparents. It's not something we do as it's not legally enforceable.

Well how did they get it in their mind that they would be the God parent anyway! Some ppl I tell you, they got the nerve, and I would have the same audacity! And politely say, what makes you think your going to be the God mom?

No you can't get the sex of our baby, and we are considering someone else. Man you too nice! I had a girl ask me why she wasn't invited to my wedding, and I flat out told her, I haven't spoken to you in yrs on top of yrs, why would I invite you to my wedding? She had no come back! Some ppl need just as bold of a reaction that they had with asking ijs!

Just tell her you guys don't do that whole godparent thing.
