how do you go about weaning a breastfed baby? I know a lot of people think that you should let babies self wean and I don't disagree with that but in my case there are certain medicines that I need to take that I can't take while breastfeeding. I don't want to wean her right now but I was thinking I would stop breastfeeding around the time she turns one and I was just wondering how to do it.

Give her more food and less breastmilk. That's one way to do it. Get her used to eating food. Trying giving her something else to drink maybe?

I got my son off at 26 mos by 1. Telling him he was a big boy and the milk is going to go bad soon (yours may be too young to do that at 1) and then I picked a day and put lime on my nipples, only had to do it like 2 times and he didn't ask anymore
