How long should you wait before you pump if you drink one beer?
Safe to drive safe to feed. Pumping and dumping does not remove alcohol from your milk.
My dr actually said that the milk metabolizes out of your milk at the same rate that it's out of your blood. No need to pump and dump and as long as you don't drink any hard alcohol and up to 2 beers and you feel sober enough to drive like how @mrshumphries @mommyof2_94 said nursing is fine. Otherwise you should have a back up ready and or be able to wait until you feel sober again to have baby nurse. I will actually drink a beer to help up my supple if Lucas is cluster feeding or constantly comfort nursing because he empties my boobs without a problem. The beer doesn't affect him , doesn't make him drowsy or eat less like some sources may say. But everyone is different. Use your best judgement:)
I have heard from several doctors say "if you can drive, you can feed"... So basically if you don't have a buzz you're good only like 1% of what you drink actually passes through to your milk..
@mommyof2_94 I've heard of that too! But wasn't sure, i would hate to throw away milk though lol.
it's not at all good for a baby, the alcohol passes through your milk. any doctor will tell you to pump to get the milk out that the alcohol already passed through.
Thank you girls for all the feedback lol! :)
I wanted to kinda have an idea before I did drink if i ever decided too.
