2 weeks ago my mother in law threw me a surprise baby shower & it was a heart warming party I got to meet a lot of my partner's family the only thing is I did not invite my own family due to the fact that the only person I have a good relationship with is my father. My father also wants to throw me a baby shower, today I called him regarding my final decision which was that I did not want one & I felt like it broke his heart because he already had bought tables & chairs plus due to his financial situation he wanted to throw it in the park & the reason why I said no was because he's going through financial situations & also I do not want to be near my mother, sister, brothers or anyone from my mother's side of the family because they're all just negative fake people but I can't help but feel like a complete dick :/ I know my father means well & tries to make me have a good relationship with everyone else but can't understand why it just won't work out
