I took them when they were 6 months old for the first time

My son started swimming a lot last year at 3 within 2 months he was swimming without his swim vest.

I don't have other children but with my nieces and nephews, the all went in between 4 and 6 months. I know if you ask the ped they'll usually say to wait until baby can at least hold their own head up. Being able to sit in a floaty is nice but you can always just hold them if they can't quite sit up by themselves yet😊

my boys are 5 now and love water! I took them at 6 months and went to the very shallow end and just sat with them! splashed them a little! the older they got the more I let them explore! we are going to do swimming lessons this year :)

Practice with her in the bath first and see how she does in more open water then her baby bath. You'll obviously be holding her so you really just have to watch for people splashing water in her eyes when you actually go in a pool. My niece begs us to go swimming during the summer and she's 3 gunna be 4 in July.
