This isn't pregnancy related but I need to vent.. Me and my husband don't have a car. We've never bought a car, yeah my husband knows about cars and stuff. But to know what's good for the price he sometimes wants a second opinion. My grandfather has told us that he would help us and go car shopping with us.(My grandpa hates my husband because he's black just so this makes more sense.) So today me and my husband was looking online to see what's out there right now. We came across a SUV and I asked my grandfather if it was a good price for the miles. He wouldn't tell me, told me to figure it out ourselves. After asking for 5 minutes he told me he wouldn't buy it. Then he tells us he doesn't know why we are looking around if we don't have insurance. Well duh we can't get insurance without a freaking car. So he tells us to look at cars and see what we want and do research. Then he tells us we can't budget because we don't know the interest on the car so what's the point in looking. Well no fucking duh we don't know the interest and we won't until we actually apply to a car lot and see if we get approved and how much interest their charge us. I'm just so tired of him telling us to do one thing then going back and saying something else. He's suppose to be my grandfather he's suppose to help us we don't know everything we're still young figuring things out. Least he can do is give us advice or a simple yes or no on a car. Me and my husband I guess will figure it out ourselves and learn from our mistakes even though we can't afford to buy a messed up car expecially with our daughter being here in less then 37 days but if my grandfather hates my husband that much that he can't talk to him or help us then it's what we'll have to do. Pray to God whatever car we decide on is a good one.

interest for car loans are usualy high unless you gave great credit

I would actually suggest going to your bank / credit union and getting pre approved for a car loan before you even look at cars so that you know what price range you can look for. You typically get your loan through a bank, not the actual car lot.

We don't have a bank. We do everything by cash. But already looking into getting a car loan. We just want to wait to save $2000 so we have a down payment. Shouldn't take us that long to save that much if my husband pulls overtime. @mamabear2016

Well you'll need to get your loan through a bank or credit union so I would recommend asking around and seeing who will give you the best interest rates.

this sounds like my grandpa ! it's sooo annoying he tells me I don't have insurance so why am I looking for a car like ummmmm wtf. then says I shouldn't buy a car until I can have an emergency fund for it in case anything happens I have the money their .. r u serious? -.- we have a car now and do just fine screw him

It's usually cheaper if you get the loan through the car company so there's no middle man. But if you need advice on cars just let me know. My brother is mechanic, has worked at car auctions and works at a dealership right now :)

@hernandezmommy, Yeah it's very annoying. Me and my husband just think that with a baby we should have a car for emergencies. We don't want to depend on someone else to take us to doctor appointments, or God forbid the ER if something is wrong.
