When the phrase black lives matter came out, I always corrected it to all lives matter. However I think in doing so I was absolutely making the wrong point. Saying all lives matter when someone says black lives matter might as well be ignoring the problem. I didn't say it for that reason, I just didn't understand. And ignorance isn't OK and I'm sorry.

Today it was explained to me differently (and please if I'm looking at it wrong please tell me) and I was given this example- if your at a big family dinner and everyone gets food but you, you speak up (because you matter) and tell everyone hey I matter and I got missed. Then everyone looks at you and just says everyone matters instead of giving you anything to eat. Well yeah everyone matters but your still hungry and you still deserve attention and to be fed like everyone else at the table.

I feel so bad for not understanding previously. I will never correct black lives matter to all lives matter again.

yess! i tried to explain this to a few girls on here awhile ago. They kept saying no all lives matter, and i said i understand that but this is a specific protest for black lives because it really is an issue! Im so glad you said this 🙏🙏

thank you for being open minded and understanding. and for correcting your self and. being woman enough to say you was wrong and apologize. its still a lot of ppl who dont understand this. u wouldn't say at a breast cancer awareness walk all cancer matters....same here, yes we all do matter but it is important to acknowledge whats going on right now...these things cant go ignored any longer.

I always said all lives matter too, and I read this exact same explanation too on Facebook and I understand now, but it still is kind of dumb to me. People take things out of proportion and bring race to the matter. EX: this isn't about race but, they're saying the brand Timberland tied their laces to symbolize a "noose" or "lynch" like the ones they used to hang blacks years ago, and there's a lot of black people who believes it too! It's just a KNOT!

Saying" it's still kind of dumb" is like if I say "I understand there are different types of cancer and this is about breast cancer but it's still kind of dumb"
