So my friend is in labor and she's had probably about 10 false alarms but she is currently dilated to a 4 (which is considered active labor right?!) and she's constantly having contractions and THEY SENT HER HOME?!?! Like I'm confused. Yeah she's has a ton of false alarms but she's in actual labor! In my opinion a women knows her body so when she says somethings going on they need to listen. Plus, it's stressful going back and forth like that!!
@carterclaytonb, she's considered high risk because she fell at work and has been contracting since 20 weeks buts she full term now so I could see why they wouldn't keep her but it's still scary! She's almost there :/
The new guidelines say that 6cm is active labor. I was 4cm for the last two months with my son and still had to be induced. It really depends on the situation health wise and if there are any risks or if her contractions are regular and strong enough to progress her.
@jlowe000, if they are so close they definitely shouldn't send her home but she also shouldn't go home… just go somewhere close and walk or something to get her water to break then they have to admit her
@aungstc, @cheylee @babyanthony24 I told her to go back and sit there until someone helps her! She has a 30 minute drive!! She can't be driving back and forth like that! I wouldn't leave if I was her 😂
Sure as hell did thatto me too... Lol went into labor just hours later, I was pissed all the nurses that sent me home didnt get friendly hellos from me. Our L&D here is dumb tho
Oh wait...1 minute apart consistently? Um yeah then I would be pissed and go back in this is how roadside delivers happen!
I hate hospitals for this reason!! I labored for 3 days!!! Hard labor for 24 hours they sent me home 4 times! I couldn't even talk through my contractions and they still sent me home! They finally admitted me when I was Dialated to a 5-6 gave me an epidural and come to find out my body stopped dialating so they had to give me pitocin and I hadn't gotten any sleep in 3 days had no energy to push my body was in so much stress I ran fever and I wouldn't Dialate at all past 9 so I had to have an emergency c section! It was awful and not how I planned anything!
Not necessarily. I was at 4 for 2 weeks before my water broke and even then they had to start contractions. So stressful and I'm so sorry for her it is definitely not comfortable! If she's not showing signs of contractions or her water breaks and they induce it can cause unnecessary stress for her and baby.
Hopefully it'll happen for her soon.
