HELP! My baby is a few weeks old. We had trouble with latch in the beginning and she wasn't getting enough food I had to introduce formula to clear her jaundice when she came home..was nervous about introducing the bottle because I knew it might confuse her which I think it did and now have been giving her some breast milk I pump and formula as well. Really want to get her to latch on my breast but it is not working. Any advice here??

@mamamj, she's nursing like a champ now! I've been consistently offering her the boob before the bottle and it worked now she's with it :) Thank you for that tip!!

You got this! The best thing to do is keep trying. Giving up will be the only reason it wouldn't work out. I went through the same problems. Hope everything works out for you.

Nope not too late. I pumped my baby's first couple of weeks. One day I decided to try and latch him and here we are 8 months later.

she can definitely get the hang of it again! just try to be patient and always offer the breast before the bottle at her feedings. hope she catches on again for you!

You're welcome. You can also try a nipple shield, right. I would try the stimulation first. Lactation consultants will tell you not to make that your first choice.

@mommynicki335, or try a nipple shield until baby has the hang of it

Pump your breast for about a minute and then latch her on. See if that'll help. Sometimes if your nipple is stimulated it helps the baby latch well. Also try expressing milk on her tongue. Let me know how that goes.
