I'm allergic to codine, and have no idea if that will affect what I can and can't have during labor, makes me kinda nervous
There's really nothing wrong with going natural either! I went naturally with my 10 mth old and it was the easiest of my 3 pregnancies at that time. No horrid side effects, no complications, and no long lasting pain afterwards. I was up and walking and showering within 45 minutes after his birth
@ilyric I had EPIDURAL during labor. @jupiterviridian all kinds of meds are not good for you and baby especially since you're allergic. I would stay away from narcotics period if you can.
No, after. You wouldn't want them giving you those types of medicines during labor.
@ilyric well that's why I said I wasnt sure. & to ask her doctor to be sure of what she could & couldn't have.
@aek91, yes they do. I'm allergic to morphine and Hydrocodone, most of the meds used for pain in labor are in the morphine and condone family's. Depending your severity of allergic reaction to it, they may just back it with benedryll
thank you all for the advice, and I wanna try to go natural, but in case I can't handle it I was curious if the epidural would affect me in a bad way. As far as the allergic reaction to codine goes, I turn blue and feel like I can't breath.
