I'm due to have a membrane sweep tomorrow (at 40+5)....they say there's only 30% chance I'll go into labour within the…

I've just had a sweep on Monday at 40+1 but nothing yet. I'm having another one on Sunday and will be given an induction date for next week @sleckenby x

40 weeks bang on ... 2nd one a week later than the 3rd and 4th when I was in labour waiting to dilate to get up to the delivery ward xx

I went 2 weeks over so I no how your feeling, I had 4 sweeps in total the first 3 were rubbish the forth one helped heaps x

I had a membrane sweep at 40 + 1 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, and the midwife said that the babies head was really low and I was 1cm dilated, at 6am the next morning at 40 + 2, I started having contractions then at 5:05pm I gave birth to my beautiful little girl, so it worked really well for me hun, good luck sweets xx

I've also been feeling quite a bit pressure but also feel baby under my ribs. she's dropped a little now tho @mummyx316 I went 4 days over in my last pregnancy so let's hope I have a repeat of that and she comes today ☺

@sleckenby, I didn't think mine would work because my cervix was hard and slightly posterior and I was only 1cm but she gave it a right good go haha. I lost my plug and bloody show later that day and then 3am that night I went into full blown labour ☺️ xx

@sleckenby, no problem at all! I wish you lots of luck, I remember what it's like and going over isn't ideal especially because you feel so uncomfortable at the end as well as all the excitement to meet baby finally!...Hopefully it will get the job done since you're already getting some contractions.

For me when I had the first sweep she thought it looked promising because I was about 1cm or so dilated and my cervix seemed soft and she said baby was very low and she could just about feel the top of the head so she was happy to do it and thought it may work, the second time I was like 2 or so cm dilated and again cervix was soft and the baby was very low at that point and again she could feel the top of babies head but it was much easier for her that time...In my gut I just knew it would work 2nd time round, it even felt different after xx

I know what you feel like bless you and when everyone behind you is having their babies is so annoying lol. fingers crossed xxx

I had two and neither worked.. other than i did start having regular contractions and I thought it was the real thing but they stopped😑I then had an emergency induction at 41 weeks due to reduced movements to then see he pooed inside me and was extremely distressed I finally had him at 41 +1 8 days over. hope it works for you though hun best of luck xxx

thanks @mummyx316 ....hope I have similar luck. I've been having contractions but nothing regular so hopefully it'll give me a little jump start. I'm quite restless now and I just want her here xx

I had two done with my last pregnancy, the first was done on her due date as nothing was happening and then my contractions started so I went food shopping with the hopes of some serious progressions, but then they stopped! I was gutted...I then had another appointment 4 days later for a check up because they thought my bump was measuring a little behind and I managed to convince the midwife to give me another sweep which she did and the contractions began again, I had an ultrasound done and then went home. At that point I felt like the baby had really dropped down lower into my pelvis and it felt very uncomfortable and the contractions kept coming thick and fast (I had gotten home about 6.30pm) by 10pm I was back at the hospital in labour the contractions were 5 mins apart and lasting about 4 mins, they continued to progress and get closer together and stronger and my baby was born at 1.20am. So for me it was successful but only the second time around xx
