My dog is super excitable & I'm kinda worried about having him around the baby.
He's mainly an outside dog, but he comes inside when it's raining or too cold & sometimes just to get some attention. I don't want to neglect him attention wise when my son is born, but I also don't want him to get too excited around the baby & something happen.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Just stating, I don't have the money for training & I will NOT get rid of him.
That would be amazing. My fiancé never has any positive suggestions about it. He just says that we'll have to leave him outside all the time or get rid of him & neither one of those are reasonable options.
Just take things slowly... Your pup will learn what he's allowed and not allowed to do. Who knows, he may end up being completely different around the baby 😊
He just gets so excited when he comes in the house. Like, after he's been inside for a little bit he calms down & I'm not worried, but when he first comes inside I'm worried about him barreling into the swing or wherever the baby is.
My dog is the same way , the way we prepped him was with the toys and lotion. Like her swing we set up and turned on to get him used to it and we played crying baby noises so he would be used to the noises. And with the lotion I would put it on so he was used to the smell.
@brogansmommy, I can't remember how but if he is house trained try to keep him inside for a certain time and there is a YouTube video on how to prepare your pet for the baby. It may be hard if he has ever been around a baby before but it can work just give it time :) my pitbull did amazing around my niece before she was murder
@deafmama16, how? My little brother, who is seven, is the youngest child we have in both of our families & he does fine with him.
Don't you just love it when people try to out do you...I got pregnant so all of a sudden a certain someone wants to be pregnant because I'm getting a bit more attention!!
So my bf just beat the hell out of my dog and idk what to do now. I want to leave but don't have my paper yet to take my dog with me anywhere I go
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
My bf moved with me to be closer to my family when I got pregnant. He has made it clear he hates living so close to my parents and wants to move. Which is fine, I don't always want to live near my parents. But we also have an 11 month old and another baby due in july. I still go to highschool and told him I just want to finish out highschool without moving schools again. I've done it too many times in my life. And it's hard enough making new friends when your a teen mom. His response is I don't ...
Am I wrong for not wanting my newborn to sleep in the same room as me? I just don't want him to get use to me being right there when he wakes up n then having a hard time of breaking him of thag habit when I move him into his own room
I have two pitbulls that live with my mom they had gotten an American bulldog who was 100 lbs at 9 months old so very hyper. My female pitbull would actually put the bulldog in its place if it even came close to me when I had the baby they are very nurturing and protective of all the kids in our family. I would start with playing baby sounds around him inside the house and if you have any friends with babies have them come over and be around the dog. Also call a pet trainer and ask what else can prepare him to share.
