When starting oatmeal, how often do I give it to her and how much? When do I start gradually increasing the amount? Do I keep giving her the same amount of formula before and then the oatmeal? I tried asking her pediatrician but she wasn't any help..
but everyone does it differently, like @mommybump2016. :) she seems wiser, I'd listen to her!
you're not an idiot! I gave my son oatmeal at about 4 months old and then fruits and veggies around 6 months old. I filled the top with oatmeal and poured it into a bowl, added formula or water and made sure it was a little thicker and fed it to him. sometimes I heated it, he liked it warm for some odd reason lol and sometimes I put it in his bottles (helped with his reflux) @ngujen
yes I do :) the oatmeal will fill baby up faster and that will decrease amount of formula baby eats witch saves formula lol. but I don't measure the oatmeal I just eyeball it. but if baby is good on one oz mixed for oatmeal go to 2 oz :)
@nichole_lynn did you give him oatmeal for awhile before introducing veggies? how did you do it then? I feel like an idiot :/
@nichole_lynn what do you mean by cap? @mommybump2016 yeah I was thinking about doing that! but everyone else did it different :/ do you give the oatmeal first then top it off with milk?
increase to two times a day in a couple days. hope what I said helped! lol
I gave my son a bowl in the morning and a bowl at night and I filled the cap when o started and instead of water I used formula and gradually increased the amount. hope that helps!
try once a day, 1 once milk with some oatmeal make it a little thick but a little runny for the first couple of times , what I would do is make a 6 oz bottle use 1 oz for the oatmeal and the rest give to baby. your baby will let you know if the bottle is too much by leaving some formuls
@nichole_lynn @mommybump2016 thanks ladies!
