Good morning mommies!

I'm 20w4d. When I went to my first Dr. apt I weighed 214, and now I weigh 219. I have always struggled with my weight... I do know that gaining weight is a part of pregnancy, but I am having a really hard time with accepting it.. I'm not going to change my eating habits because I don't want to hurt my baby boy. I guess its just time to gain weight.. Trying to do my best, mentally, with the weight gaining..

Oh sorry I didn't mean to offend or anything like that. Since you were a little bummed about it I thought I could relate to you during my first pregnancy. Everyone would just tell me stories of how they gained like 80 lbs like it was normal and honestly it would only scare me and bummed me out more. I was only trying to give you a good story not just the "I gained a lot but it's ok" stories in case you needed to hear something different like I did. In the end it is all about you feeling good.. and remember you are making a baby in there! It is an amazing thing and it takes a lot of work. Our bodies may change, but when we see those cute little faces our body will be the last thing that comes to mind. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope you feel better about the situation 😊

@dearsandy, I've never had a healthy life style. I do my daily walks everyday, sometimes yoga, but that's about it. I have never been one to exercise I feel like for my life style I have always lived.. I'm doing very well.

I would say if your weight concerns you just make sure you keep eating right and have a lot of small meals throughout your day. The way I see it it's about quality not quantity. I had lost over 70 lbs before my first pregnancy and when I found out I was pregnant I was determined not to gain more than healthy baby weight. I worked too hard to put it off, plus gaining tons of weight is unnecessary for the baby and wouldn't help me during labor. So I ate right, I also do herbalife so I continued with my shakes because my Dr said it would be great as long as it's no longer for weight loss. I uses to get really tired at random times during my first trimester so I would take naps but right after my first nap I would take a 3 mile walk, do 4 sets of a few exercises. 20 lunges, 30 squats, 20 lunge squats, 20 donkey kicks and a few sets of arm exercises with 3 or 5 lb weights. My first trimester I lost like 10 lbs but realized I also gained muscle mass. Dr said it was ok. My baby was nothing but perfect throughout pregnancy and delivery and I was able to bounce back in about 3 months. I only gained 26 lbs and am hoping for the same with this baby. A lot of women get carried away with food and cravings, I would get some, but would try to replace them with a much healthier alternative and if there wasn't then I would only have a small portion and eat something healthier. Bottom line, if my daughter wanted McDonald's or soda I wouldn't give it to her if she were crying balling on the ground because I know it's bad for her and I want her to lead a happy healthy life & that will only introduce her to more bad food, so why would I feed my baby crap while pregnant too right? So just continue eating healthy and good portions, drink plenty of water and get some exercises going, you could end up with amazing arms and a great butt while pregnant! Haha. Don't focus on the weight, I think that as long as you're making healthy choices you will feel great about the weight issue.

Don't worry to much about it...my doctor told me if I can't gain the weight not to stress out over it as long as the baby is and is healthy. When I found out I was 165-170 i lost a lot of weight...I went down to around 150, I'm 27w 4d today and am at 155-165.

I try to remind myself that pregnancy is temporary...we have the rest of our lives to take care of ourselves and get back to a weight we are comfortable with. And most of the time, it only takes 6 months to a year (and for some lucky bitches, 6 weeks lol)
