im 24 weeks and i still dont know my babies gender. im considering faking a complication instead of paying all that money for a 3D ultrasound even though i wish i could.. i still dont have a boy name but im pretty sure that if its a baby girl, im naming her Violet Skye.💜
@mamatopes6_11, I would lol just say you just want to make sure everything's okay or something it isn't gonna hurt anything
@rennysmommy, they most definitely could have seen the gender at 19 weeks! even my dr said that they couldve told me the gender. it was all bs. and right, some how some way. ANY way. my boyfriend found out the gender of his first child at 21w bc the mother fell. i was thinking about saying i fell or something. idk yet though
You don't even need to get a 3D you can pay for a 2d which is much cheaper
You're definitely not the first. With my daughter I had like 5 ultrasounds because I didn't gain any weight. it was awesome! I wouldn't think twice about saying something to get another.
I did this earlier in my pregnancy and went to the ER, and they didn't even let me see the ultrasound. They were hiding the screen and I got such an expensive ass bill. I was there for 6 hours doing the ultrasound and some other exams. Mostly waiting 😂😂😂
@mamatopes6_11, I just read your other comment lol who cares if that's what she would do. And they probably still could've checked I found out with my son at 15 weeks. I would have to know some how some way
@leiromero, & @michellevaldez4750 i am so impatient lol i think ive waited long enough ! i need to plaan, i dont give two shits if someone thinks its ridiculous. its an idea that just might work lol and im damn sure i wouldnt be the first to do it.
An ER trip is in the end, more expensive. Plus, they won't always tell you. After 2 kids and during this pregnancy, I've had complications and never mentioned that I knew what it was. They would do an ultrasound and never once say anything. I know during this pregnancy they wouldn't say and that was around 15 weeks. Luckily baby and I were okay.
You can usually find a really good price for a 3D/4D on Groupon. I only paid $50 for a gender reveal and I got a cd/dvd with music, pictures and a 45 minute session.
Remember that if you go into the hospital, they may just hook you up to a heart monitor and may try poking and proding at you for ideally, no reason.
@mamatopes6_11, they might not show you, when I had complications thy wouldn't even let me look at the screen. Worth a try though I would be dying to know. Maybe ask your doctor if he can schedule an ultrasound first if you haven't tried that surely he/she will understand.
@maciecakes, right, thats what im saying. but why would they give a hoot about that lol.. smh. & damn $30?! i could most definitely do that. i just need to look around, thank you for that.
@maybabyboy, yeah i was thinking that. thats why i said i was considering faking a complication.
that's not fair to you though. you do need time to get clothes and stuff and it's hard to just get all gender neatural. but I mean I had a 3d ultrasound done and they had packages. so some were cheaper than others. I know just for a gender reveal I think it was like 30$ so check into that. plus they offered a sneak peak for free of the next package up.
You could find a cheap place to tell the gender I paid only 75 bucks an found out my baby gender
@maciecakes, thank youu i love it too, that was the first name i thought of and it hasnt changed lol. & well when i got my ultrasound for 20 weeks expecting to find out the gender they changed my due date and said it was too soon to tell and my obgyn wont let me get another ultrasound until 35 weeks and told me to just wait until the baby is born to find out since thats what she would do lol. bs.
I feel like the er is more expensive than just going to a private office and paying to get it done...
You could go to ER & freak out saying you haven't felt baby move & you're freaking out can they do a quick ultrasound please just check on baby etc. they'll probably do it. But they might just do heartbeat too.
Have you checked with nearby colleges? Our community colleges nearby do free sonograms because their techs are training. Maybe something you can look into? Otherwise, I'd be pitching a fit to my dr or consider transferring to another practice. That is absolute BS they won't do one till you're 35wks
