How do you know if you've started producing colostrum?

squeeze your nipple if anything comes out you've got colostrum. but sometimes its there you just never really know.

just your nipple. & not hard you don't want to hurt yourself. I wouldn't worry about it much though you'll have colostrum for sure when baby is born

Don't be alarmed if you squeeze your nipple and don't notice nothing is coming out also! Not every women will leak. If this is your first baby you usually won't see any until baby is here even when baby is here it can take a few days to show up.
