just like everything else eith parenting( cloth vs disposable, co sleep vs anti, circumcision vs not)
its your own choice, dont bash or try to tell moms on here that they're wrong because they dont parent the way u do, all doctors arent even the same with recommendations
@britdh29 ask your pediatrician and then make your own decision
this isnt the best place as u can see lol
Well obviously time has passed. I kind of have to be older then I was being fed cereal to be having a baby. I'm aware of that.
@lbedell95, my parents gave me whiskey for teething, doesn't mean I would give my kids it 👌👍
@kellynicole, oh ok I misunderstood sorry... as soon as your baby can hold their head steady you can start to spoon feeding...
@b3autifulm3ss, I wasn't given rice cereal in the bottle I was spoon fed cereal
@beautifulm3ss, thanks. People just keep telling me to try it to help him stay full... I'm afraid to and new to all of this I totally understand.
I did it with my daughter but that was because she had to have it or she couldn't keep formula down
@kellynicole, things have changed since you were a baby... you are not supposed to put it in a bottle EVER unless instructed by their doctor. Babies wake up for a reason why would you want them to sleep if their body obviously doesn't want to.... do some research ladies
If I'm not mistaking I'm pretty sure the rice cereal is just empty calories. Idk I never put any in my sons bottle as his pedi told me it's considered a choking hazard. This was 2 years ago so research could have changed since then. Research it a little.
@britdh29, it wasn't really an opinion. I was a 9 1/2 pound baby and was eating so much more and one spoonful of cereal helped. Lots of doctors recommend it.
@domijac3, @kellynicole thanks. Maybe I will wait a few more weeks and see.
My mom told me that when I was 1 month old she was giving me cereal bc I was a fatty always hungry lmao
it helped mine sleep a little longer at night because something stayed on their stomach but i used like maybe 1 oz per 4oz of milk
literally in a week a dr will say its ok baby will be 3 months
start with small amounts and work your way up
I've read that it can be a little hard on their digestive systems. There have been babies (rare occasions) where they ended up with intestinal blockages and needed surgery. I think anything before four months is discouraged so it might be worth researching or talking to your pediatrician first.
Thanks! Everyone has been saying to try it to get him to sleep longer but I don't think it's time.
I was always told by multiple doctors that putting it in the bottle is a chocking hazard if you plan on giving it spoon feed it. Neither of my kids like plain cereal I have to mix fruit in it. Ask your dr if they think it's ok for you to put it in a bottle.
