that's horrible. she should respect you when you say no to something for your child. my mil kept putting cereal in his bottle at 2/3months old when she would make his bottle because he was "skinny" even tho he was already born 9pounds 12oz(fat baby) I threw it all in the toilet and didn't let her feed him for a while because she kept wanting to to put cereal in his bottle. they think because they are older and have had kids, they know everything and we know nothing.

@kelseys, oh my god my mil STILL does that and she always tries to give her a little water. it pisses me off. can't trust these women to watch my baby! hah

my mil tried to tell me to give my baby water because he was eating too much when he was born. These women are crazy and sometimes I wonder how in the world their kids ever survived

Besides, feeding on a schedule like she thinks you should can really damage your supply! There's a reason breastfeeding moms feed on demand!!!

You're doing fine, your baby is smart and she knows what she needs and when she needs it! She may be hungry, thirsty, comfort feeding, snacking or anything really! Just don't worry girl, you're doing beautifully and your girl is perfectly fine. As long as she's not projectile vomiting a lot then spit up is normal, and belly sticking out is just silly...she's a baby! They're bellies stick out lol I mean if she's gassy, burp often and give her gas drops but otherwise if she's not upset she's fine lol for real, you MIL has a lot of crazy theories on breastfeeding that are just plain WRONG.

ur baby knows when enough is enough also so if she is hungry or using u for comfort ur mil needs to not voice her opinion.

my mil was the same ! do you . you're your baby's mom . you know what you'll do with your children. she did what she did with hers.
