#FirstTimeMOM : Is Getting A Crib A Waste Of Money? Some People Saying The Baby May Not Even Sleep In It...
I just bought a play pen n stuffed it with my extra shift and fluffy blanket. that's my crib lol
With my first I bought a crib he used it maybe 5 times and that was it. I didn't buy a crib this time. Cosleeping saved my sanity as my oldest wouldn't even sleep in a bassinet. You can always get a cheap 100 crib from Walmart and a 30 dollar mattress. So you don't feel like you'll be wasting big money even though you only have 30 days to return in that time frame you can tell if you need it or not.
I think our pack n play was a waste to care for, but some people like them better. We used a bassinet for our first baby for the first 3 months in our room by my side of the bed, then she went into her crib in her own room. I plan on doing it with this baby as well. Also bassinets aren't a necessity since you can only use them for a few months anyways. I think cribs are great, especially the convertible ones.
you can get away without having one by using a bassinet and or a pack n play. i got a crib and a bassinet at my shower so ill be using both but i oringinally was just gonna buy a bassinet nd wait to get a crib til shes ready to use it. its just your preference really
I'm a FTM and I bought a crib I plan on letting him sleep in a bassinet in our room for a little bit but if I can I would like to move him to his bed after awhile. Also I know a lot of people with kids an there babies will only sleep in the crib but it's really just up to you
Im a Ftm and i think it depends on the baby. my daughter never slept in her bassinet and I'm so glad we didn't get her a crib cause she wouldn't even sleep in the bassinet.she's 7months now and I'm just going to get a regular twin bed and put it on the floor in her room. if you do get a regular crib though I highly recommend it's a crib that turns into a toddler bed later down the line so it can still be useful.
I'm a FTM as well and I'm buying one Friday to go in the nursery. But I will have a bassinet for beside my bed for the first few weeks of him being home. Then slowly transitioning to sleep in his crib on a schedule.
FTM also, I have a bassinet for when he is new and gets up to feed in the night next to my bed. I also have a crib that he will sleep in when he stops waking up at night but it turns into a toddler bed also so I wouldn't say it's a waste of money. I'm not co-sleeping and once they start to sit up its scary to have them in a bassinet in my opinion.
crib is a good money spent. my son slept in his at an early age. you can get one that turns into a bed later on
My son slept in his crib from 3mo to 2 years. Then he moved to a toddler bed. Every baby is different, but for our house, crib is definitely a necessity.
