I'm currently engaged getting married on 2 months. My fiancé and I are both. 29 years old. We want to start having kids soon or within the year. How much money should we save before having kids? And what can we get used? That part scares me, getting used things for babies.

I only buy new items. Just wait until you find good deals and use coupons. Also, don't forget to price match.
car seat for sure should be new. it's scary buying a used one because the original owner could have had a wreck in it or so many other little things that could make it not safe for baby. and probably a new mattress..I wouldn't say the whole bed would have to be new...I got lucky with the used mattress I got because they are family friends and they barely used it. (it's a real top top top dollar one)..other than that, I think it's save for everything else to be used. if you were questionable about a pack n play, there are cleaning things you can look up on pinterest! my mom did that with a used one she got and it worked wonders!
Me and my husband bought our carseat, stoller, baby bed, baby bath, bottles, and pack N play new. We bought some clothes, blankets, baby books used. Just make sure the carseat and baby bed are new because there's recalls sometimes. Plus for me with a bed I like new because of bed bugs and lice.
Thank you girls! I know it might seem ridiculous but I'm already saving up. I don't want to be caught off guard. Lol I knew someone who had to pay $2,000 for just delivery because her insurance would not cover it and they had to pay it with in 3 weeks. That totally drove me to start saving. Lol
