Question....is everyone washing their baby's clothes before? I want to but worry it will all shrink in the wash🙈what's everyone's opinions and thoughts?!☺️
The only reason I washed mine is because one shop advised me to, one because you don't know what's been on or over the clothing & 2 companies use a toxic dye on clothes to make the colour look brighter when first bought. When washing it makes sure that this layer is washed off so all is safe for baby. I washed all mine, ironed and hung up! By 31 weeks but now I've had more from her baby shower so the washing commences again lol!! Xx
I washed all of my baby's clothes - I was saying this to someone else last night but Aswell as you washing off all the chemicals and stuff it's actually so nice seeing cute little vests and babygrows hanging outside and folding them away all smelling fresh and ready :) x
I did all my baby's clothes & blankets, ended up having an 11lb baby so he wore none lol. Asked my midwife and she said it's advisable to wash but you don't really have to if its clothes in packets which was handy as my other half had to run out and buy all 0-3 months x
@rach91, of course, otherwise we're all being seriously conned with baby clothes lol! and in case it's relevant, I will be washing mine :)
Lol that's true @jem29 if I just put them on a low temp it should be okay! X
Well I best crack on then as he's literally got so many clothes...I may for now wash just the baby grows, newborn and 0-3 and wash the rest when stuff needs to be worn xx
well if they do shrink, better to know now rather than when you've got a 2 day old baby who then has no clothes that fit!
I washed every single thing you never know what chemicals there were coloured in or in what condition had been transferred and kept in shops. Little baby has no immune system so very risky that could get something . I use non bio fairy and comfort pure antic conditioner . Everything smell so nice ;)
My friend didn't wash her Lb baby clothes and he came out in a rash 3 hours after birth...better tone safe than sorry any non bio washing powder is good and baby fab softner xxx
I've decided I'm going to wash it all to be on the safe side, don't want baby's skin being irritated...I've got enough time on my hands now being off work😊xx
I washed all mine xx just think about who might have touched it before 😳😖 xx
Oh yeah, and washing gets rid of any excess chemicals and dyes that are in the clothes xx
I'm in the process of washing all mines. Especially his towels because of the starch that they are soaked in before soaking! It's personal preference! Completley upto you! Just don't stress over it :-) @rach91 xx
The first time I washed everything. This time I just washed tiny baby and newborn ( I was being induced early coz she was small) I've kept the tags on everything else I've brought incase when she grows into it, it's the wrong season. 0-3 months should be winter for her so I've brought loads of winter stuff but she's 5 weeks old and still wearing tiny baby so looks like 0-3 will be spring/summer for her. might have to change it all haha xx
I never thought of it until I see someone post something about it on here the other day🙈 I may just wash the newborn and 0-3 clothes xx
I washed them :) for reasons that some clothes get mauled in shops or dropped on the floor and hung back up. So didn't really want them coming into contact with my babies skin. They won't skrink, put them on thr right temp and air dry them :) I've washed 0-3 clothes multiple times and they are still a bit big for my little girl. She is 9lbs+ Xx
It's not a need but if u want to u can but don't put too much stress on your self for something that u don't have to do
I'll be washing all mine :)
