My SO is adopted and I'm not and it really makes us clash when it comes to what we believe will be correct parenting for the baby. I have far more experience with children and family, but I don't want to make him feel bad. He clings to his friends like they are family which is cool but not when my child is involved and you think that they can just baby sit and hold him all the time. They are only in their early 20's & smoke all the time.
