To settle a debate that I'm having with my friend. Can you get a tattoo while you're pregnant?
Risk of infection or not, why would you want to?? You're body is going through so many changes!!
Your friend is cray cray for trying to get one while pregnant
definitely not.i had a friend get a piercing done and when they found out she was pregnant and knew she was they wouldn't let her get piercings or tattoos there anymore.
I did 3 weeks post partum while breastfeeding. and it was a chest piece. but I trusted my tattoo artist and knew he was hygienic. but actually pregnant, no most good tattoo artists wouldn't even risk if it they could. the ones who would risk it are the not so smart ones.
My tattoo artist who runs his own shop said they refuse to allow pregnant people to get tattoos and they'll black list them if they try to.
That's what I said! She's also pregnant and she was trying to convince me to get a matching tattoo with her. I said maybe after the baby comes! She was upset that I wouldn't get one now. @nicemmcha2015
You can, but it can affect your breast milk and make it not sterile for your child to drink. I wouldn't recommend it. The ink would not be something you want your baby drinking. And if you get one on your back it's harder for you to have an epidural the ink can get into the epidural.
You can but your likely to bleed more some artists won't do it but some will I've known people to get them while pregnant they got it done at a shop where all the needles were brand new and everything was sterile she never got an infection it's totally up to the person I've never known anyone to get an infection from a tattoo but obviously it's a possibility it's more of a personal decision of whether the person wants one or not while pregnant every one has their own opinion I wouldn't judge someone if they did get one
@kelsicutie, if you find a artist with 0 morals and if you're more worried about your own wants rather than your child and what COULD happen... then sure. some people are just that selfish in my opinion.
Yeah that's what I tried telling her. The risk of infection is too high.
If you get an infection the baby can get it. Super dangerous, they more than likely wont let you, we tried when my friend was breast feeding to get her nose pierced and 3 shops turned her away.
my doctor said absoutly not. the risk is to high and infection and all that and most artists will not do it .
If you have an artist with a brain, no. You're stupid if you do. It's putting your body in distress, so if your body is in distress, your baby is obviously in distress. Any GOOD artist will not do it.
risk of infection or the baby being allergic to the ink is too high.
you can but most artists won't.
I suppose if you can find a tattoo place to do it, but I doubt most would given concerns for infection and bleeding.
You can but they don't recommend it due to the fact that if it gets infected it can seriously hurt your baby
you can do anything you want pregnant. is it a good idea? no.
nope. I tried to get a daith ear peircing and they won't even do that so tats are def out
