They say not to sleep on your back for circulation purposes... The right side is okay to sleep on but they suggest the left because it gives you the best circulation out of all the positions. I plan on asking my dr my next appt, can't really believe everything you read lol

It's not great to lay on your back after the first trimester, but as long as it isn't for long periods of time you should be fine. If you wake up on your back, don't panic. your body told your brain it needed to switch positions. personally I've never slept on my back, and even now when I am on my back I find it uncomfortable and hard to get up from. Your right side is completely fine and even sleeping on your stomach is okay until you get bigger and aren't physically able to.

Wow. Some girls swear like they know everything. It's ridiculous. I lay on both sides and half on my stomach when my legs and hips start hurting. It's uncomfortable to lay on my back and or fully on my stomach so I don't have to worry about it. Left side is ideal because of oxygen and blood flow but you can lay however you feel comfortable.

I'd start getting used to side or stomach. stomach is even fine as long as you're comfortable.

Sleep however makes you comfortable as long as it isn't flat on your back.

no, you're fine unless you get put on bed rest or something. the left side is best, because it gives the best blood flow for you and baby, but that doesn't make the right side bad. as you get further along it starts being not good to lay on your back, because that can cut off blood flow, but for the most part just don't worry about it, just try to lay on your side if you can.

what?? it's recommended the left because it allows optimal blood flow but I can't stand it. I've slept on my right since day 1

My doctor told me sleeping on back is poor for circulation. Left side is ideal because it increases blood and nutrients that reach the placenta and baby. He never said the right side was bad but sleeping on left is better
