so far I have in my birth plan
-delayed cord clamping (only to be cut when done pulsating)
-NO eye ointment I don't have STD and that's the only way her eyes would get infected
-Opting for Oral vitamin K they will not give her that shot
-delayed first bath for 24/48 hours and I will be the one to bathe her with the help of nurses (they are born with that stuff on their skin for a reason.)
If y'all have any other things I should look into please let me know:D
lol i probably will be when I'm in pain I get annoyed easily. and Joseph likes to tell me to calm Down and it sets me off, at least your mom was a good sport:)@twinmamma2015
I'd say maybe around 30 weeks or later. I took mine a lil earlier but that's cuz twins could come really anytime after 24 weeks and I wanted to be prepared just in case lol! thank God they went full term for twins! But he will definitely need them lol! my mom always said, and said it in my birthing class (she took it with me) she said "never take to heart what she says" my mom was like come here, go away, come here, go away and then the stuff fell off during a contraction and the Corpsman said it didn't look to bad, my mom ripped his shoulder boards off, pulled him into her face and told him to try it from here! lmao! my dad was like wtf! but you don't mean it. I actually told my mom to shut up when she was trying to help me, then I started crying cuz I felt bad I said it. she was like it's ok, I know you don't mean it. So one think he should remember is you may be very mean (or not) but if you are he shouldn't take it personally lol
lol i have a feeling I'll wanna hurt him while I'm in Labor lol he's one of those men that thinks he knows and can do everything -.- so he needs classes lol when do you recommend taking them @twinmamma2015
Haha it didn't look bad from my angle lol but apparently it did from hers haha! But definitely you n your man should take it, they will show ways he can help, and he'll have a better idea of what to do and when (hopefully if he doesn't start running around like crazy! 😃)
oh my goodness😮 that's like scary yet funny lol poor baby wanted to stay bc his brother was out and he had room😂 good Lord girl i give you props I would've fainted I swear lol @twinmamma2015
your man can go with you! it's good for him as well! and I had them at change of shift and in the OR. I also had a lil hemorrhaging, and it took 7 mins to pull him out cuz he spread his lil legs and was like "I've got room!!" he didn't wanna leave lol! so it was definitely a lil chaotic but they gave me some pain meds to help get me thru them pulling him out. I swear my mom said she wouldn't believe if I told her, but her eyes bugged out when she saw my belly moving under my boobs. my mom was like oh he's moving, my docs were like that's also my hand! my mom's jaw dropped! they were literally up to their elbows inside me trying to get his legs lol! so they gave me the pain med and that helped. so it all worked out, and I'd do it the same way again lol!
haha i agree with your momma!:) i can't wait to hold her I think that's why I want everything done so soon( like it'll speed it up lmao) but does the man go with you to the birthing class? @twinmamma2015 that's crazy he didnt know their was twins lol your ob didn't tell him?
yeah being stuck in a bed sucks. I couldn't walk around because they couldn't monitor both babies while walking around. birthing class to me was so worth it. now ripping vs them cutting you that's a lil tough. if you have an episomity done they sometimes will use a local anesthesia to help numb but either way your adrenaline is pumping and you don't even think about it. to be honest I dunno if I ripped or was cut lol, and my epidural had started to wear off cuz the anesthesiologist thought I was done after he saw Thomas, he didn't know they had a second baby to pull out, so it was uncomfortable but either way I don't remember and you won't either, once you hear and see and hold your daughter you automatically forget if they cut you or not, you don't feel the stitches lol. it's God's anesthesia as my mom calls it. lol
I want to take birthing classes because I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing lol and I'll have to put that in my plan about wanting to me mobile while in labor I think being still would make me antsy@twinmamma2015 does it hurt more ripping?
make sure if you want that you can walk around, use a pregnancy ball, different positions to help you till time to push. Episomity? they say there is no difference if you get cut or rip for baby to come out. so that's your call. are you going to take a birthing class?
Download the bump app. They have a list of things you could look into. It is a ton of stuff I never would have thought to put :)
same as you, I did delay cord and I donated the cord blood. no hep b, no eye ointment, oral vitamin K which they didn't have so I did say ok for the shot. they were gonna need it when they got circumcised. I always had a lactation specialist with me every time I nursed. they offered pacifiers which I took just incase cuz babies like to suck to soothe themselves but my boys never liked and still don't like pacifiers. they did send me home with formula just incase which I did needed cuz my milk wasn't enough for both babies and never really came in 😭😭 they gave me diapers as well. I believe that was it. I did have an epidural cuz they had to reach up in there and pull out baby B and that was uncomfortable from what I could feel lol but if I remember anything else I'll let you know but that were my major wishes.
ahh! I will have to check if Dothan has one i believe they do, I would love getting to keep her with me at all times she's mine lol. I want them to take me with them if they do test or do it in my room any thing else happen that you would've wanted different?@twinmamma2015 I know I'm opting to delay the Hep B vaccine
my hospital doesn't have a nursery anymore. the baby stays with you unless in the NICU but they have big private suites for them. but my boys never left my side except when their pediatrician checked them out, they were gone for 20 mins and right back. all tests were done in my room as well.
oh no, they wouldve had to kick me out right then. Thats just ridiculous @mommacrystal
@hermommy, oh I will. I know my niece was getting breastfed and they gave her formula in nursery .... talking about a mad sister.
of course they do😒 imma make sure they know that's not my wishes lol thanks for reminding me!:)@kaylajay @mommacrystal agreed I want to do things for her as natural as possible look into the ointment thing :) i asked my OB and the pediatrician and they said it's pointless and actually makes the baby highly uncomfortable and look into you going with her to have test ran
@hermommy, I definitely want immediate skin to skin and delay cord clamping. I will be keeping her lol no nursery for her Unless mom or dad can go lol
alot of hospitals keep the babies in the nursery unless the parent tells them otherwise. one of those "secret choices" no one asks your preferences on
I will look into it lol but honestly I dare them to take her she's mine, I don't believe in the nurses taking her she has me and her daddy for that she's new like you said that's very important thank you I totally forgot to add that i just assumed they wouldnt take her lol@kaylajay
Look into wether your hospital will allow her to stay in your room (unless she needs nicu). babies are at a very sensitive state and not being near you those first few days actually does more damage than good. yea you might get a tiny bit more sleep in those 2 nights but your baby probably spends that time scared and not treated with as much love as you would treat her with
opinions on the eye ointment at birth? at first I didn't want her to get it but now I'm thinking about just delaying it for an hour. ideas?
Anyone delay clamping and the bath??
I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!
omg... I'm so depressed my child cries more than she doesnt..The only time she's not crying is when she's alsleep.. but she only sleeps 30 minutes each time. she won't sit in her carseat, her crib, pack n play , her swing, bouncer nothing!!! I have to hold ger 24/7 even when she's sleeping or else she will wake up. I'm tired I don't get any sleep nothing soothes her I don't even remember the last time I had enough time to bathe :'( I love her so much but this is so challenging
yeah she was! but as long as he knows in advance what might happen lol
