Mommies, I need help! Before I got pregnant I used to be a everyday smoker, every 10 minutes I would light a cigarette! When I found out that I was pregnant, I cut back a lot but I still have the tendacey to smoke! I'm 23 weeks and I want to quit really really bad! Like I said I have cut down a lot to only 1 or 2 a day! But I'm still not happy with myself! Everybody that I know are smokers so being around them does not help the fact that I want to quit! I know I should have quit a lot sooner then now! But this pregnancy was unplanned because my doctor kept saying that I was unable to have kids, due to what happened to me in the past! Like I said I'm 23 weeks, almost 24 weeks! And I want to start making a difference now! I don't want to nor do I ever want to hurt my little girl! This little girl is a huge blessing to us! And I want what's best for her! So my question is, I need help quiting completely! So does anyone have any tips? Please don't judge me, I just thought that I could come up here and ask for help and feel as if I have people on my side! My family obviously doesn't care, because they still smoke around me! But I can see that I'm hurting my fiancee with every cigerette that I light up. And tbh, I'm tired of cigerettes, I'm tired of the smell, I'm tired of spending money on something that is a fast way for me to die, and I'm tired of hurting myself and my child. So please, if y'all have any pointers or advice, please share! I could use anything at this point.

* thought about quitting. When I found out I was pregnant my OBGYN had told me about "vaping" that most of her patients had stopped by doing it and basically all it is , is oils and water. You can choose to add nicotine. And it's a lot easier to cut off with it. Because you can find flavors of the things you crave and slowly work to a stop! I've even done my own research on it!

I use to always smoke and the day I took my pregnancy test and it came put positive I threw out all my ciggs but the night before I smoked a lot on purpose because I knew there was a huge possibility that I was prego to be honest it was not easy and my mom and sister smoke and i just had to fight the urge . what I did was think about my baby in me and what it could do to it.my child has changed me even though it's not even born. u just have to stop nobody else can do it for u and.when I get angry or stressed I would get cravings but the. it goes away.i get sour patch and snacks and that helps. I have gone 20 weeks now without it and it feels good to say I'm strong enough to have stopped u CAN do it because I did and believe me I smoked for years and it was a bad habit.

You ARE strong enough to fight it! Before my dad died he asked my brother to stop smoking- I think that was basically his one regret. You are strong enough to over come this. Stopping now allows you time to clean the smoke out of your body and start healing the damage while baby is still inside- that's huge! It is not more powerful than you- you've got this!

I have tried so hard to quit! But right now we are staying with my father bcz our house currently caught fire and we're in the process of moving into our new home! But my father is a drunk, and when he gets drunk he likes to yell at everybody and everything! And he stresses me to the point where I turn to a cigerette! I hate it so much. I just wish I never picked up a cigerette! I wish that I never got addicted. My fiancee is the only one working right now, because I was put on bed rest due to falling at work and cracking my hip, so my doctor doesn't want me doing anything to the extreme! And it stresses me out to see him struggle and to see that he's the only on working. And I honestly think that's the reason why I do smoke because I'm not keeping myself occupied! But so far as of today, I haven't picked up one cigerette and that's a shocker, bcz every morning I would smoke a cigerette like it was my morning meal! I'm just hoping that this urge will go away, and that I'm strong enough to fight it

It took me till 25 weeks to give up that 2 a day I was smoking and it's like I went from a pack to 2 a day why can't I quit. So I told myself I'm gonna try 2 weeks without it. It was hard and I was so testy. But jelly beans helped. I'm 32 almost 33 weeks now and I can say I noticed less swelling of my legs and I just feel like something isn't controlling me anymore.

Have you tried replacing the cigarette with something else? A dumdum sucker, a drink with a straw, a short walk, etc? My dad died a terrible (and early) death from lung cancer is definitely not something to mess around with- Tina usually caught late due to the way the symptoms appear and is often a death sentence. My dad had the best hospital in the world and just went through cutting edge trials (after catching it early by accident) and still died. He only lived 18mo. You could literally miss your child's 2nd bday and the second/third hand smoke could already be giving baby asthma and lung issues. Kudos to you for cutting down and trying so hard. Keep going. Your baby needs you and people don't realize how awful lung cancer is and how horrible the death is.

Seems to me like you're already heading in the right direction and have a positive attitude about quitting. That's a start there! Stay strong you can do it
