umm... I'm not sure about your state but if you where prescribed the MD by a physician it shouldn't be a problem.. here in texas MJ is the lease of the hospitals concerns, and if it was going to affect the baby it would have from the beginning. if it's not prescribed you could still test positive depending on how they test.y suggestion to you would be to see a psychiatrist if you aren't already also talk to your obgyn..

my friend smoked all during her pregnancy with her son. Atleast 3xs a day..and it wasn't prescribed. She still has custody of her son. Talk to your doctor..eventually they will check your urine to make sure you don't have too much protein so they will know. Ask them if there are any other options since this is the only way you can eat or sleep. goodluck girlie!

if you have a card or something stating for you to be able to.smoke they shouldn't take it away and I don't think they test unless you have past drug use problems, I smoke now, I have really really bad anxiety. it helps me a lot.

You don't have to tell anyone, and they probably wont test you. If you were earlier, I would say cut out slowly, but youre almost done, there's no way youre going to be clean in 5w as pregnant as you are...too much fat and water weight. Also in some counties, like mine, Santa Cruz, they really don't care.

@tahtahme, I dont even smoke a lot like I used to before I got pregnant. I smoke to eat and sleep. I live in LA and I heard little company of Mary doesn't test but im not sure.

if you're super worried than go ahead and renew it, If no id say don't worry about it! if they knew from the start than they'd test you. but if you said no, I don't think they will. @dearmichelle

I used to smoke a ton, cut back to only smoking for morning sickness and sleep, then stopped at about 5 or 6 months... I haven't since then. But I really don't believe you will be clean in 5w, and is it even worth it to stop suddenly? idk...you could probably renew it. But do they even know you were doing this?

I cut down the whole time and even after I had my son, but I still smoke and they never took my son. If it's legal where you are, the most they can do is not allow you to breast feed in the hospital, they do drug test you and your baby, for myself and my son he didn't have anything in his system but there was small traces in his umbilical cord. They have to tell Dhs according to child safety, and they will try to come to your house unannounced, I personally didn't answer my door because I didn't know anyone was coming and I was home alone with a newborn. Now they will call you, and tell you they want to see the baby and make their own judgement on you, which is never good when it comes to marijuana parents no matter how you lock things up. I didn't let them, my son is perfectly healthy and fine. He was that way before he was born and after he was born, still is and excelling at everything.

@nichole_lynn, my ogbyn doesn't know but if I gave them my urine sample every time I go in they would of said something right? @tahtahme no they didn't know I had a different Doctor when I applied for medical marijuana and it was before I got pregnant.

I don't know how it is where you are at, I just know what my rights are here where I am and I know they're are tons of houses where they should be, instead in mine taking my son when I've done nothing wrong.

Well when they take your pee they aren't testing for drugs and they would tell you if they were. They take it to test for chlamydia or protein and things like that...

right after birth the drug test you, and no they don't have to tell you its for the safety of the child. Even if they don't know or suspect you they drug test you. at least that how it is here

I live in LA as well and my advice is just be honest with your OB. I was embarrassed to tell mine and they just test to make sure I stopped since I was smoking before I found out I was pregnant. in some hospitals they check the babies meconium and it can show traces of THC. best of luck 😊..

Your ob won't inform anyone, the hospital upon birth will if your baby test positive. I too suffer from depression and anxiety and a few other things however I quit smoking when I found out I was pregnant so I wouldn't have to deal with anyone coming to check in on my kids. I don't want to deal with social workers.

I'd ask your ob if she's open to that and find out your state local and hospital laws on thc testing infants. they just need to make it legal already so we don't hafta keep choking down the pharma bs.
