Is it necessary to go to birthing classes? This is my first child but honestly I feel like doing the classes will make me overthink things and then drive my anxiety up.
@stephnagy2, exactly!!! It's in our nature. My doctor said it was my choice. I just wanted a little help from others lol.
I went for peace of mind and definitely glad I did. It lowered my anxiety to kinda know what to expect and I felt more educated about the types and side effects of meds they give you in the process. I'm still going into birth with an open mind but it definitely made me feel more prepared. They also provide a lot of cool techniques and distractions while in labor that may help a lot.
you dont NEED to take them. you will get through labor either way! personally the birthing classes were super fun for me and was a really good experience for my bf. when it came time to have baby he knew what to do to help me stay calm and comfort me. it definitely did not stress me out more it helped and was fun!
same. I feel like it won't matter if I go to the class or not because when it comes time to labor and be a mother I'm going to do what I want and what feels right.
@stephnagy2, that's how I'm feeling. My mom said she never went to any. I know the main parts I need to know. The little stuff won't bother me.
I'm not doing them. I'd rather go in and trust my instincts and not have any expectations.
Thanks ladies. The main problem too is that ours would be about an hour away. So I didn't know if it was worth the drive. @deafmama16 @expectingz @leishlam @richey_102315
honestly I'm a first time mom but work in the health care field and I've even concidered taking the class. you might learn something that will help you through labor.. I'm thinking of trying to dance though labor.. I've seen it done but don't know how effective it is..
I think it's a great idea. Everyone should be informed and know what to expect. They also teach you things about baby and you that you might not know. It's better to be informed than to be ignorant. :)
I did go in my first pregnancy I did learn a lot and they answer all my questions for me it's a good idea for first time mom's :-)
I'm only going to a breastfeeding classes with my husband
I was thinking the samething, but I think it'll give a peace of mind rather than anxiety. We are going to try, they give you a lot of helpful information!

Just got home from class and checked on my baby to see this lmao 🤦🏼♀️
Where did you meet your child's father? I met mine in my second semester of college. Thank you speech class.
Online classes?
I'm gonna be starting online classes for my associates degree in a couple months and was just wondering how it is?
Birthing classes, worth it or no? My hospital recommends them and a course of (I think) 3 classes costs $25.
I have to be up by 8 to go to a class with my baby at the health department called "intro to solids" class
I thought it would make me that way too but let me tell you im so happy I sent to them and am still going. I have mommy classes every friday and I love it.
