Thank you @jltaylor86 yeah i had no idea because all they did was make me fill out a paper saying if i preferred a dr or midwife and that was the last i heard about it

I say if you have a choice and you're not high risk. Go midwife, they're the best. Laid back, you're in control, very supportive. You should probably just speak up and ask the next time you're in for an appointment.

@thompsonofficial, I'm not sure about the midwife thing being on post and such. I'd ask at your next appointment if they have them available if that's what you're wanting. and yeah the visits are very impersonal ugh. hard when you're a first time mom. definitely ask as many questions as you need. they don't mind one bit.

@thompsonofficial, Madigan has midwifes and they're really great. I'm receiving midwifery care. You have to request to be put on their service though and they only take a certain amount of patients.

Before I found out we were having twins I had a midwife. They have midwives on post. But they don't do high risk so I see the same dr every time now. U can either call tricare and have them put a dr in the system for u and ill see that dr every time or Ull get a new one every time. If there is one u prefer. As for that dr when u boom ur appointments.

I'm also on an army base in California. more than likely you are seeing an obgyn regularly. however I was told I could be referred off post to a place that still accepts tricare if wanted a midwife or something else.

I'd make your preferences known if there's a certain one you like better. they'll listen to you. it's all about you and your comfort level ☺
