so this morning I was || that close to walking out of the barn I work in. The guy I work with has been here for 3 years and I've only been here for a month and a half now. This said guy really went over board. There is a very big difference between schooling a horse and beating one. Schooling lasts maybe 10 seconds. The horse put her foot down and this guy just went fucking ballistic. Kicked her in the stomach and continues to grab the rope out of my hands and starts whipping her with it all the way down the shedrow. It hurt my heart. She still has the lash marks. I couldn't just walk out of work, I really need this job but I don't know what management will do or say to me when I tell them. I was hired to care for horses not hold them while some Hispanic prick beats them. Then again he has been here for 3 years I've only been here a month and a half.. I'm feeling a little helpless

If it doesn't go your way I would make sure you have those pictures and let them know you'll be taking in up with proper law enforcement because you won't stand for it

you may be the only voice this horse ever gets. please do not leave without making sure there is a stop put to this. get him on video so it is not just your word against His. excuse my language but fuck that asshole! he deserves to be fired and punished for his actions. you are the one who should be working with the horses, not him!

@cartimom, @justmarriedhavingaboy @maybaby2016 @wrangler14_06 @lakilucid @crazytoast he only does this when management isn't in the barn area. we are the only 2 that take care of 17 head of horses, all broodmares. He seems to have a very short temper and I can't take it any longer. I was going to bring it up to management when I was leaving work but then the boss would of questioned why I didn't say anything earlier that morning. Plus this guy sure likes to lay the blame. I turned her out after he was done with his episode and I brought her back in this afternoon. Others have said that nobody lasts long with this guy because he is crazy. I think its because all the others voiced their opinion and he bitched to the managers. I already know he will pull the same stunt tomorrow morning and if he does I'm out. I'll be going to the other barn 10 minutes across the farm and letting managers know where I am and that I need to speak with them when they are finished with vet checks. I cannot stomach watching animals be beaten. Horses are my passion. The only reason I'm working with broodmares is because I can't ride at the moment being pregnant otherwise I'd be in the training division. This guy has really pissed me off. It took all I had not to start crying when I was turning her out this morning. You could see and feel the fear she had. any slight movement and she was flinching. I wouldn't want to stand still for a jerk like that either and I secretly pray he will get kicked in the head. Even if they do fire me from sonority I still have Jockey school and plenty of other farms are looking for help

Yeah animal abuse is not okay, it carries heavy consequences and shouldn't be allowed to continue.

Oh this breaks my heart - I apologize for my rambling ... But Are you sure management knows about his "training" techniques?! I would get a picture of the whelps (as suggested previously) and at least voice your concern for the horses well being. Make it sound like you are more asking about how they would handle the situation ... Maybe they don't know about his techniques! I understand you need to keep the job and what a wonderful job to have but you also need to consider if they are okay with this type of treatment do you want to work there? I worked at a sale barn where they let a cow lay and suffer for hours (on multiple occasions) I stayed until I had reported them several times and had enough proof to back up the report they were fined and the state did random pop in visits for 2 years to get management on board!

report him to the authorities if management doesn't do anything. I have a feeling they won't if this guy was comfortable doing this in front of you knowing you are new. how sad.
