OK girls, I am 35 weeks pregnant and I've been having these 'spells' where I get hot, lightheaded, dizzy, nauseous, and feel like I'm going to pass out, I don't have gestational diabetes, and haven't been diagnosed with anemia, what could be causing this? when I eat something sweet and drink something sweet I start feeling better within 15-30 minites, is this normal or should I be concerned?
@mylittleprincess, now I have been a little stressed, just moved from my parents house to our new apartment, but it's been 3 days since we moved anything over there and I've slowed down my grandma tells me all the time "slow down and rest baby, don't overdue it" I just don't understand what could cause this blood sugar problems or whatever it is, it's scary and aggravating at the same time, I want to be able to stay at my new apartment by myself without being concerned on what might happen, it seems like we moved out of my parents house and I'm always over here! I sleep at home and spend the day at my parents house lol
just make sure you aren't over drinking water either, toxemia isn't fun. don't overstress to much hun! body has a way of telling you to slow down and sit sometimes. :)
@kandl, I eat good, and a lot lol orange juice helps me or something sweet will help me, it's just scary because I've never really had this happen to me unless I was getting my blood taken an do they poked me to many times then I would feel faint and woozy
I get those some times and when I drink orange juice or Sprite I feel better. It's weird yea. But it's because I need to eat
@haleysloves5.8.12and3.11.16, I would call the doctor to see what they have to say I felt dizzy and nauseas as well but it was due to my high blood pressure
@mylittleprincess, it scares me to death, I'll call my Dr today a day see what he wants to do, I mean I see him for a normal visit tomorrow but maybe he can get me in 1 day early
@reaganmommy2015, yeah I thought my blood pressure too, but I went to the hospital yesterday and my blood pressure was 126/77 and I drink about 11-12 bottles of water a day I know that's a lot but if I don't drink that much my urine is almost tea colored
yeah they happen to me when I'm working, or walking around shopping a lot. I'll get hot, then nauseous, then start sweating like crazy, my vision goes completely blurred, and if I don't sit down I'll pass out. I'd call your Dr when they open and see what s/he says. I'd guess, if there's no other current concerns that they would verify you'd been eating well that day, drinking the right amount of water, stuff like that. maybe they'd want your sugar tested but not sure.
@mylittleprincess, see my spells I was sitting down yesterday at the WIC office and started feeling the dizziness and lightheadedness while I was sitting, I thought I was just getting to hot so I went outside and it didn't seem to help this happened to me about 5 or 6 times yesterday
the dizziness should go away after sitting for a bit and getting sugar, if it stays around I'd definitely call.
I wouldn't be too concerned unless its happening consistently (like on a daily basis) . it can be caused by not getting enough sugar, going too long without eating, not enough water, overexertion. I would definitely make your Dr aware of it (Call in the morning). something else that should help would be vitamin b bills. that's what my Dr suggested for my spells like that. and making sure you're taking enough time to sit down and not overdoing it. sorry that was kinda rambling and not in order, lol super tired.
@mylittleprincess, should I be concerned about it, I went to the hospital yesterday because I was going up the stairs to my apartment with my 3yr old and almost passed out, had to have my hubby take me and they kept me there for 3 1/2hrs I had 8 contractions and they took blood and urine, everything came back fine but they didn't run a blood sugar test, I am scared to stay at home by myself with my son because I'm afraid I might pass out our something
Low blood sugar
