question for you ladies.
is it legal to request your membranes be swept a few days prior to your due date. or request to be induced a few days before your due date? I'm asking soley for distance purposes. I live an hour away from both hospitals closest to me. so I know having the baby in the car is not likely. but the amount of traffic we hit jusy to get to the hospital. I want to take no chances. but id like to know if it's possible that way if so I can bring it up to my doctor, since he knows I live so far out.

@theinkedbarbie, I got a feeling I can convince my doctor. but Id figured I ask while I still remember. because the drive from my house just to my appointments I'm always late no matter how early I leave and the hospital is further than the obvious office so I can only imagine what would happen

they can do it after 39 weeks, but to be induced no unless you need to have your baby sooner

@theirmommy_2, yeah I know. that's why the way I'm looking at it is if I hit 40 weeks see if a few days later I can be induced. bc I do know some doctors here where I live will do it due to how far out some people live. unfortunately my area you have to make an hour drive to your ob in either town and both hospitals are the same distance. so they tend to be lenient towards it

well my doctor told me if im still pregnant at 39 weeks i can schedule my induction after 40 weeks so yea you can probably do that
