Planning when I should take maternity leave is so stressful. I don't have a regular job. I can't go in labor at work. Not an option. I am a therapist for kids with autism so when I'm working I'm in my clients home. So if I were to go in labor while working, they can't bring me to the hospital & no one can come get me due to confidentiality. My boss wants to know when I wanna take maternity leave & how long I want off. They are replacing me when I am off. So they need to know to get the other therapist situated & when she should start. She may have other cases (clients) so they can't have her start on short notice I believe. Any suggestions? 😫
seriously? you can't predict when a baby comes. I'm sure any of your patients parents would call 911 and you could wait. or they would take you to the hospital. your job is being ridiculous. what do they expect you to do if you go into preterm labor? push it back up?
when it comes to labor there is no confidentiality clause. confidentiality doesn't mean EMTs cannot assist you.
