it's so crazy to me how some drs don't do things, for no reason it seems.... for a woman to get 38…

Thats how i feel sometimes they dont even weigh me they just measure my belly and i have to say something. And he never checks my vagina even tho i keep telling him i think i have a yeast infection them when he finally did he said i didnt have one but i went to the ER the next day and they said i had a very bad one . I switched after that smh i cant stand how they just dont take the time to do their jobs .

@leiibaaaby, I have an AMAZING ob/hospital. but I've heard now of multiple women not getting measured their whole pregnancies. like wtf. that's the point of going pretty much.

I haven't my whole pregnancy and I'm 37 weeks but about every other appointment prior to 36 weeks he would manually check without actually measuring. He's been an amazing dr and has been doing this for many many years so I trust him hole heartedly bc he hasn't given me reason not to he's been right about me being a week earlier just based on touch and a sono confirmed it the following week. But based on my experience I don't think it's one of those things that's 100% mandatory.

I just hate when my Dr's won't say anything unless I ask them. 😒

@shelbyjo, manually check how ? u/s can be off a lot as well, up to 2 lbs different. i may just be sleep deprived but I'm a little confused, sorry!. measuring is done by just touch as well?

@icedtia, my Dr is amazing. I'll never go to a midwife I love my Dr so much. I hear a lot tho of women not being told things. like when you get an ultrasound, they should tell you the percentile of size your child is, but of women's drs don't it seems.

@mylittleprincess, I guess it just depends on the Dr. I go to a group of Dr's and one of them was very informative but she went on her own maternity leave. sigh.

ahh, that's true. I have the same Dr. he's an ob/family care Dr/pediatrician. busy guy. I always thought I'd hate having a male Dr, now I hope I never have a female. the midwives I had were awful people.like so bad. lol @icedtia

Like he would feel where the top of my uterus was. Yeah but my dr said himself that he's like 90% sure we had my due date off in the beginning seeing how large I am and baby girl is now esp since I had irregular periods so we couldn't go off of my LMP. Also my baby has consistently measured larger that what her estimated size should have been since about 18 weeks. Also my dr has said that he's usually not one for changing the original due date given in the first sono unless he's completely sure he's was wrong and has enough proof for doing so

yeah. that's what measuring fundal height is @shelbyjo lol. ah, please don't think I was trying to say they're wrong or incapable for not doing those things. just something I see as important to track the growth. and takes .002 seconds so seems easy enough to do.

although some are just wrong. I had a midwife at my first sono tell me I was off by 2 weeks. which is literally impossible lol. and the ultrasound tech proved she was wrong. but that midwife was a nutcase. saying I needed to choose adoption since I'm young and single and its the only good option. smh

My doctor always measures mine but she never tells me the measurement... She just lets me know if it's measuring exact or more or less lol !!!!!

my Dr always tells me the numbers. it makes me curious. at my last appt I was measuring 2 weeks ahead and the appt before that I was measuring 3 weeks behind. lotttss of growth. lol. @babykarter

lol I know it makes 0 difference. I know multiple women who measured 5-7 weeks ahead and went overdue lol. but I feel better measuring ahead then behind :) @babykarter
