I just had to get rid of my daughters cat last night we have had her almost a year ... and I feel like such a bad mom and am heartbroken about it. she stopped using the litter box and kept breaking things and my fiance said she had to go... a month or so back I had to get rid of my puppy because he didn't like him either. but he still has his dog... its hard but I guess you have to do what you have to... I completely resent my fiance now and am even more depressed.

do whatever makes you feel comfortable it would suck if something had happen to the baby

I thought about it with money being tight ( I have 2 gerbils, 2 rabbits, a cat and a horse.) But I just can't do it, they are my fur babies and I intend on being their forever home <3

Idk I get annoyed at my pets but I know it's my hormones because i really do love them, they just don't understand mommy is slightly crazy right now. I couldn't get rid of them because they're my fur children. if anything please take your pet to a no kill shelter. good luck!

yep. this week before he gets here next Monday. something feels different I can't stand the cat for whatever reason. I just hope they find her a good home.

I had a LARGE cat he was my daughters protector, him n his sister were very rambunctious but when she was born it was different, they changed they get on the baby stuff bc it's new etc they can sense a change in you, I would give time bc they know something new is coming

@katarama, I got our first cat with every intention of keeping her forever. We ended up with an abandoned kitten with a heart condition. I do love them, but they get into everything. They amp each other up. They break into the nursery and lay on everything, climb into the trash, get on the counter and eat food. They decided they didn't like where we moved the litter box and peed on my husband's recliner. The larger cat is a big breed, weighs around 20lbs. She could easily crush or smother a baby. I'm terrified to wake up one night with her laying on my baby. My husband doesn't seem concerned but he's never had younger siblings or dealt with babies. He isn't home to see the chaos. I guess I just don't know what to do

I've only ever gotten rid of one pet. She was a rescue dog, and we had to get rid of her because she was not adjusting at all to our other dogs. She spent the whole day in her little corner and wouldn't eat or go to the bathroom. It just wasn't the right home for her. I feel awful everyday. However, it was what was best for everyone because it was also very frustrating trying to work with her when she did not want to open up. Do what you think is best and do not let anyone talk down to you because of it. I would try to keep them if at all possible just because you may regret it after, but it's always up to you. 💕

It happens. Really consider it first and make sure you won't regret the decision later. It's good on some spectrums. It's how I ended up with my cat and he's a great part of our family and fits us perfectly.
