so I'm doing my glucose test tomorrow, any advice on what to do before it? my doctor said it's best not to eat before hand, but like what about tonight? should I just cut sugarary stuff out tonight?
Just don't eat anything sugary or high starch, like potatoes or bread cause those turn into sugar in your system. I ate scrambled eggs with cheese and drank water with my daughter and when they wanted to do an early test this time. I passed both times. So you can still eat just nothing sugary or that will metabolize into sugars.
no I could never get up there to do it , I've been wanting to change doctor's so I can be closer to one and can drive myself but it takes forever to transfer doctor's but I'll be able to do it tomorrow finally , before my actual doctor's appointment which is also tommorow @nicemmcha2015
The day I took my test I had a pancakes drowned in syrup. My doctor told me the day of that I was taking the test. I passed. Don't stress out too much. It's honestly not bad.
I'm just going to start drinking water all day today and try not to eat really sweet stuff which is hard for me because that's mostly what I crave , and I've also heard to eat bacon and toast or something if you have to eat before @ayersmom16 @theinkedbarbie @lashellg I @madisonhaylee
I go tomorrow for mine as well and my doc said nothing 4hours before. no food or drinks. @naerae54
like @theinkedbarbie, said. Eat a protein meal. I had bacon and eggs with water. And you will be fine. My dr told me that with my second pregnancy
I didn't eat anything because I didn't want to risk throwing up and taking the 3 hour one. But I went to take it and was SUPER nervous that I would throw up but it wasn't bad at all for me. I had the orange one and it was cold thank god, it tasted like flat orange soda. Good luck!
@narrae54, i don't think you'll need to. like i said i literally ate a whole bunch of sweets before because the party, but everybody's different i think you should stick to your normal diet to get the most accurate results
okay thanks @theinkedbarbie @ericka I really do not want to have to do the 3 hour one
you can eat just not an hour or two before the test, i went in for mine around noon and just ate a big bowl of oatmeal an hour prior.
