My son is a week old and I've been breastfeeding him since he was born, I did give him a couple formula bottles while in the hospital also but since we have been home it's been strictly breast. Sad to say I'm ready to stop nursing and start giving him formula again. Not only am I exhausted, my nipples are hurting and I also have 4 other kids that hardly get any of my time because I'm always nursing the baby etc...How do I stop without it being painful? Can I ask my Dr for some type of pills to dry the milk up or is it something that will do on its own?

I almost gave up to. It's so rough in the morning and with you having so much to do during the day it really must be hard. But after the first two months my life got a whole hell of a lot easier! He slept through the night and I wasn't as exhausted. Just trying to be encouraging. But if you are really done, I heard that you shouldn't have any breast stimulation at all.

I know it sounds crazy but my nurse told me to use cabbage leaves to put them in my bra. And it saved me! Lol. It hurt like crazy!! But something about the cabbage leaves works! Also don't express any milk or you'll just keep making it. I couldn't let water fall on my breast for a good week or so. It was rough! Also I don't think doctors prescribe the pills to dry up anymore because something about it having cancer agents in the medicine. Hope this helps.:)

Benadryl helps and wrapping them up tight will help.

@usheeka_ if you don't want to breastfeed anymore don't let people make you feel bad about . I just stopped pumping and putting my baby to the boob and it dried up . Try to breastfeed as long as possible but don't feel bad for formula feeding.

You're almost over the hurdle, I'm not judging.. Just a few more days and you'll be golden. Just don't want you to regret the decision. I know you're exhausted now but in the grand scheme of things, the big picture, if you could make it a month breast feeding the benefits will be huge for your baby and even though it seems long now you only have 3 weeks to go... Just want to be encouraging :)

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

I've been supplementing some with formula because my baby boy just demands more than what I'm putting out and he seems happier with the formula..my breast milk doesn't seem to satisfy him enough and it seems like he's always hungry unless I give him formula..should I switch to formula only? I thought breast milk was supposed to be best but in his case I'm not so sure ugh idk what to do I just want him to be happy
