I started pumping. I chose to ebf from there on because I didn't have a job or anything and I liked the closeness between my son and I. However, I would recommend doing both. I'm having a hard time getting him to switch to bottles at almost 8 months old. He hasn't had a bottle since he was 2 weeks old. He throws tantrums now over my breast. Try seeing if both works for you. Pump after each feeding.

you should not pump until 4-6 weeks in order to avoid nipple confusion and to prevent oversupply which can lead to clogged milk ducts and mastitis.

I wouldn't introduce a bottle or a pacifier until the baby at least a month old

we've been doing bottles, breast, and a binky since the day our son was born and he's done great. It just depends on the baby though. My friends baby won't take a bottle at all and just freaks out when you try to give it to her!

You can pump right from the beginning helps with milk supply. The more demand the more they make milk. But as far as nipples and bottles wait two weeks. Or get one so close to your own nipple so baby want know the difference. It's less suction on artificial nipples, which is what causes babies to get lazy and not want to pull so hard on mom's nipple. which in return will cause them to reject yours. let him get used to pulling hard for you, so two weeks is definitely my recommendation befor introducing bottle.
